Pharmacy Practice in Focus: Oncology is a bimonthly (with 2 additional conference-focused issues in January and July) peer-reviewed journal focused on the field of oncology pharmacy practice, with coverage of relevant news, research, conferences, and discussions. The journal is interested in receiving manuscripts for peer review on a variety of topics, including advancements in immunotherapy, precision medicine, targeted therapies, biomarker development, biosimilars in oncology, and combination therapies. For a full list of topics, see our call for papers.
The publication launched the peer review process for the journal in 2024, at which time the journal was renamed from Pharmacy Times Oncology Edition to Pharmacy Practice in Focus: Oncology. This was not the first name change in the publication’s history, as the publication was previously named Directions in Oncology Pharmacy before the name was changed in 2021.
The publication takes guidance from the editor-in-chief, Zahra Mahmoudjafari, PharmD, MBA, BCOP, FHOPA, as well as the editorial advisory board (EAB) for the publication. EAB members support the peer review process for the publication, provide insight on trends in the field, recommend areas and topics of interest for the publication, as well as connect the publication with active pharmacy opinion leaders who can contribute to the journal.
